Privacy Policy for the pseudonymized payment procedure of KD²Lab

Date: 03/10/2023

Information about the Processing of Personal Data

To enable the experiment payments, a pseudonymized payment procedure is used. For this purpose, each participant is assigned a unique code when participating. The KD²Lab Management receives this code from the experimenter. After determining the payment amount, the code is deleted from the experimental dataset.

The collection of personal data relevant for the transfer is done using the “LimeSurvey” tool, which is operated on KIT servers. The data entered there is accessible to the KD²Lab Management and the individuals administering the LimeSurvey system.

Other recipients of your personal data include the experimenter’s secretariat and the Financial Management Service Unit (FIMA) of KIT, which manages the payments, and the bank responsible for the payout.

Experimental datasets and payment datasets are always processed separately to prevent any association.

Payment datasets are deleted after the transfer. FIMA keeps documentation of completed transfers for a period of up to ten years to fulfill KIT’s legal obligation for administrative traceability and tax-related obligations.

You are not obligated by law to provide this data. Its provision is voluntary. However, please consider that a transfer can only occur after providing the necessary data.

The legal basis for processing this personal data for the purpose of payment is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (DS-GVO). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time under Article 7(3) DS-GVO. Please note that KIT is subject to legal retention obligations after the transfer has been completed.
